Prior to founding ActionCOACH Atlanta, a business and executive coaching firm in Atlanta, Jeff Smith began his business life in sales before going on to law school and becoming a trial and business lawyer for seven years. He was then recruited into the corporate world and, after completing his MBA degree, he held a number of senior executive positions including Chief Marketing Officer, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and General Counsel for several large publicly traded companies, including Cincinnati Bell Inc.
With over thirty years of business experience and having owned and operated four businesses, Jeff has worked in very small entrepreneurial companies as well as large public companies. He has managed departments ranging in size from 1 to over 500 employees and has held positions in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Planning and Business Development, Legal, and Administration.
Jeff has completed over one hundred mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of public and private domestic and international companies, conducted business in over 120 countries worldwide, completed thousands of complex agreements and dispute resolutions, trained developed and coached multiple teams and thousands of employees and lead companies through periods of both high growth and economic downsizing.
